How will the gameplay be?

Hi guys i'm a new member!

First of all i wanna say that the game looks really cool and the 3D for this kind of game is just perfect!

Second i know that the game is in an early stage but i wonder how the gameplay will be, what you devs have in mind like for example if we'll have more type of runways (grass, concrete et .), if we can upgrade our buildings or vehicles like the gate (you click on the gate and you can choise to upgrade it with a jetway), GA, cargo and military flights, how the managment aspect will be, if we can build airport like Madeira on the side of a mountain so we'll have limited space, etc. This is more a question for the dev i hope they will answere :D :D

Hi Striker97! You are welcome!

It's really early to say confidently about some gameplay details. So I would say "with great probability":
  • Military, Cargo, GA - we have this in the plan but not for release
  • Thats why different types of RWY - also not for release
    We want to stay focused on commercial airport simulation. After this will be made well we proceed further.
  • but different sizes and equipment for RWY - definitely yes.
  • Building/objects upgrades - absolutely yes. Almost each service can be upgraded. Even more - we have research tree: upgrades unlock, new policies (e.g. "Fast transit", "Airline HUB" etc).
  • Jetway will not be upgrade, but pathway. You will be able also build walkway instead (e.g. for low costers). In both cases gate keep option to work with buses. And of course jetway may be upgraded to 2-bridged and 3-bridged (for double deckers). All the upgrades affect productivity, prestige but also maintenance costs.
  • Different locations with specific conditions - weather, available space, suburbs etc - great chance "yes"

Guys, will be watching with interest for sure, it sure looks promising...
Just wondering how deep will the financial modelling be, what kind of financial effects will be managed?

Also looking forward to another sneak peek video, hint, hint :-)

Another question...
Is it possible to start with a small "local" GA airport, and grow that into eventually a large International airport?
Are the building/s blocks modular? Or is there an upgrade path to the existing blocks that are laid down?

For now we don't plan any GA presence in the game. May be later in DLC. Player will start with a small local CA airport with only few flight requests from domestic and discounter airlines.

All objects in the game have to be built by player. Similar to other tycoon games. There are a single block objects: ramp, garrage, caffe, duty-free shop, chek-in counte, baggage claim carousel etc. You just select them on a building panel and place/rotate wherever you want (according to rules of course). Some of these objects are "upgradable". E.g. basic "Fueling station" fills two tankers simultaneously could be upgraded to advanced version that able to fill four tanks.

Others objects are "pathways": service road, taxiway, jetbridge, pedestrian walkway, baggage belt(from check-in counters) etc. So you build them as a road in any building game. Though there are some rules and limitations for each type. E.g. you cant intersect jet-briges or "one gate - one ramp" rule for walkway and jet-bridge connection.

Nice one, I get the picture.
Another upgrade path could be for the control tower.
Could you consider camera positions to take advantage of the detailed 3D structures and movement?

I am working on it right now. Definitely the model have to be polished in close beta tests. Cant wait for it =)
